President of the Eduardo León Jimenes Foundation and general director of Centro León, institutions that promote the improvement of the quality of life of Dominicans through education, arts and culture and respect for the environment.
She has developed an active career in the field of education in the Dominican Republic, especially in the areas of literature and philosophy. She holds a PhD in the field of Philosophy and Language from the Complutense University of Madrid. She received the Doctor Honoris Causa distinction from the APEC University in Santo Domingo. She is also co-founder of the Lux Mundi Educational Community, where she served as academic director for 25 years.
The Foundation’s objective is to project Dominican art and culture nationally, regionally and globally, and to improve the standard of living of Dominicans through values that come from a cultural education.
Member of the Board of Advisors of the Dominican Studies Institute of the City University of New York (CUNY DSI), member of the National Board of the Smithsonian, member of the Board of Trustees of the Reina Sofia Museum Foundation (Spain). She is also an active member of executive boards of important institutions in the Dominican Republic such as: Consejo Nacional de Cultura, Fundación Sinfonía, Consejo de Ciudad Santa María, Fundación Museo Atarazanas Reales (MAR), Consejo de Dirección de los Colegios Preuniversitarios Pedro Henríquez Ureña (COPHU), and Fundación Amigos del Teatro Nacional.
